Rome, Italy.

The jug, a bulbous vessel with a spout and handle, embodies a direct link to Antiquity, a tangible fragment of a bygone era. Often crafted from stoneware or clay, it carries within it the memory of ancient gestures: grasping, pouring, offering. Its shape invites the hand. But here, the jug becomes an illusion. This familiar container, heavy with history, reveals itself unable to contain. It challenges the very notion of a receptacle: what can we truly hold, retain, or preserve? It thus becomes a symbol of fragility, emptiness, and waiting. A form both familiar and mysterious, confronting us with what slips away, without any promise of being filled.
